Google has made parental controls available on its Chrome browser and Chrome laptops.

The new feature on the beta Chrome browser and Chrome OS, dubbed ‘supervised users’, lets parents set up profiles for their children, allowing them to block sites and check their offspring’s browsing history.

Google software engineer Pam Greene said: "To help those who may need some guidance browsing the web, we’re kicking off a beta channel preview of a new feature called supervised users."

According to the search engine giant, SafeSearch gets automatically activated for supervised users, blocking the majority of adult content from appearing in search results.
