Good Technology’s new Good Work email application will allow users to download, view and edit Microsoft Office attachments in a secure manner, on their mobile devices.
The new application is built on the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform, which simplifies the process of creating mobile apps and the management of apps, data, and devices.
Good Technology said that sending attachments via email through mobile devices can be challenging due to issues with usability and security issues.
However, the company claims that the new application will not compromise the user experience of working with documents in an email.
It also highlighted that the document will not leave the Good secure container, which will ensure complete protection.
Apart from opening Microsoft Office documents within an email, users will be able to edit the document online through Microsoft Office Web Apps and share the documents through email via Good Work.
It will also allow users to save the documents to Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive, or as a PDF.
Good Technology product management senior vice president John Herrema said: "Mobility shouldn’t require a compromise between usability and security, and Good Work now offers an easy and secure way to collaborate on Office documents while on the go using any mobile device.
"The ability to access, edit and share content is critical to business productivity, and we’re now making the user experience on a tablet identical to browser editing on a desktop or laptop, while adding industry-leading security that ensures data protection at all times."
The company also announced immediate availability of Good Work for iPad users while it will come integrated with Good Mobility Suite and Good Collaboration Suite this summer.
