Good Technology introduces software toolkit for mobile application development

Help businesses to eliminate the application without compromising data on a device, in the event of a security breach, says the company

By CBR Staff Writer

Secure and managed enterprise mobility firm Good Technology has released Good Dynamics, a new software toolkit for mobile application development for consumer and enterprise use.

Good Technology said all Good Dynamics-supported applications are built from the ground-up securely, quickly and cost-effectively, with the flexibility to deploy across multiple devices – including smartphones and tablets.

Good Dynamics will enable app developers to have direct access to the resources and support to incorporate Good Technology’s software offerings into their own builds, allowing encryption, authentication, and connectivity technology that prevent application data loss.

IT professionals and their applications development teams can extend Good Technology’s "containerising" code to their own internal mobile applications through Good Dynamics, said the company.

With Good Dynamics, app developers get direct access to the technology, resources, support, and advice they need, including a network of industry professionals who are already working to build device management features and over-the-air safeguards into their apps.

To deploy Good Dynamics, app developers have to plug the code libraries into their applications to create a secure "container" around the application and all of the data it holds and accesses.

Good Dynamics help businesses to eliminate the application without compromising music, photos, and other personal data on a device, in the event of a security breach.

Good Dynamics’ security features include a secure container, strong encryption, a Secure Network Operations Center (NOC), and secure remote application management via a centralised console.

Good Technology-UK managing director Andrew Jacques said with the introduction of Good Dynamics, they’re providing a dashboard and customised toolkit for app developers and IT professionals that will streamline, organise and manage their mobile operations in a secure platform.

"Good Dynamics targets specific apps that need to be secured and focuses on the use and behavior of those apps in an enterprise setting, providing a level of control and management unlike other device-driven security approaches in the industry," said Jacques.

Meanwhile, Good Technology has also released the results of a new survey of 1,000 Britons which marked the need to address the explosion of both mobile devices and the applications they increasingly carry into the workplaces of Britain.

Good Technology’s survey found that 38% of adults under age 44 – four in 10 – have some kind of smartphone; seven in 10 (70%) of adults admit to using their own personal phone for work purposes; only 8% (less than 1 in 10) have a company smartphone and less than one in ten (9%) have security software loaded on their smartphones.
