GlobalSCAPE, a provider of secure information exchange offerings, has introduced enhanced security and end user capabilities for Mail Express, an email-based file transfer offering for business customers.

The new Mail Express provides security by supporting communication through the GlobalSCAPE DMZ Gateway.

The DMZ Gateway support allows customers to implement Mail Express behind a DMZ firewall, providing an added layer of protection for data storage and retrieval, user authentication, and firewall traversal, the company said.

In addition, the new Mail Express enables customers to have complete email attachment management and security in diverse user environments through Internal Web Portal.

The portal provides full Mail Express functionality through a standard web browser to customer employees who may not use Microsoft Outlook as their primary mail client.

The new Mail Express includes: support for Microsoft Outlook and Exchange 2010; improved performance and optimisation when interacting with anti-virus software; and increased capacity and number of users per Mail Express Server, supporting the growing demands of larger enterprises.

GlobalSCAPE Mail Express product manager Jason Wolford said email still remains one of the most common ways for organisations to exchange data and with the new version of Mail Express, organisations can enjoy collaborative flexibility and security benefits than before, while also experiencing the same ease-of-use benefits.
