Gladinet, a provider of cloud storage access offeings, has launched Cloud Desktop 3.0 with file sync, improvements in usability, and performance.

According to the company new Cloud Desktop has file synchronisation across multiple PCs by leveraging any cloud storage service.

In addition to file synchronisation across multiple PCs and usability improvements, Cloud Desktop 3.0 also includes improvements for its backup capabilities. With the new snapshot backup, multiple versions of full or incremental backups may be stored.

The new cloud Desktop 3.0 also gives the flexibility to restore from any previous version instead of being limited to the latest mirrored copy, by storing incremental snapshots provides this flexibility while minimising the additional space requirements.

Gladinet co-founder Jerry Huang said many will have one or more PCs at work and at home. This highlights the need for a good synchronisation offering which enables the user to manage the same set of documents across all their machines.

"To solve this problem, Gladinet’s new file sync feature leverages Amazon S3, Google Docs, Windows Azure or any other cloud storage service that the user chooses," Huang said.

Huang added "the new backup feature also allows users to backup email, or any other live data that may be in use at the time of the backup, And our developers have done an impressive job of providing these 3.0 features with significant enhancements in robustness and performance.
