Fujitsu subsidiary revamps document scanners for iPhones, iPads

iPhone and iPad users to access their data, including electronic images, on their mobile or tablet device

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu subsidiary PFU has offered Scan-to-iPhone and Scan-to-iPad software functions connecting paper-based documents directly to the mobile Apple world.

The software enhancements from PFU will enable users of iPhone and iPad to access their data, including electronic images, on their mobile or tablet device.

The new platform will allow users to transfer documents from their PC or Mac directly to their iPhone or iPad by clicking on the new ‘Scan-to-Mobile’ button in the ScanSnap software’s Quick Menu.

In addition, it will also scan contact data and documents into SalesForce CRM, SalesForce Chatter and SugarSync Personal Cloud applications in less time.

The free software updates are available for the scanner models ScanSnap S1100, S1300, S1500 and S1500M, to new as well as to existing customers, PFU said.

iPhone and iPad users can download the free ScanSnap app from the iTunes AppStore and update their ScanSnap Manager and Organizer applications online, in order to ensure seamless communication between ScanSnap document scanners and Apple smartphones and smartpads.

PFU Imaging Solutions ScanSnap product manager EMEA Sofie Dheedene said seamless integration of our ScanSnap S1100, S1300, S1500, and S1500M document scanners into Evernote and Google Docs was just the start, and the next logical step is for us to connect iPhones, iPads and leading cloud solutions to our ScanSnap scanners.
