Fifth District Savings Bank has selected Banking Systems, a provider of integrated fraud detection and process improvement products, for its Sentry: Signature system, which will help the bank to protect customers against identity theft by displaying customer photo ID’s and signatures to tellers during bank transactions.

SQN Banking said that Fifth District Savings Bank customers will have their photo ID and signature captured during the account opening process. Tellers will have access to the data immediately after it’s been entered into the SQN database through their Zeus teller system and the information will appear instantly on their computer screens.

SQN Banking also said that signature information gathered from Fifth District Savings’s previous system was transferred into Sentry: Signature to offer existing clients the added security measure without the hassle of resubmitting information.

Stan Jaslar, chief technology officer of SQN, said: Identity theft is a growing problem and it is important that financial institutions work to protect their customers by having an additional deterrent that prevents them from becoming victims. Our Sentry: Signature system enhances bank security and improves customer service by decreasing teller transaction time.
