F5 Networks releases new version of BIG-IP software

Software product modules include BIG-IP LTM, ASM, WebAccelerator, Global Traffic Manager and Link Controller

F5 Networks, a provider of application delivery networking services, said that the company has released version 10 of its BIG-IP software.

According to F5, the service helps organizations align IT and business by streamlining application delivery, reducing capex and opex costs, and improving workforce efficiency. BIG-IP version 10 unifies application security, optimization, and acceleration onto a single device, paving the way for enterprises and service providers to establish a more dynamic IT infrastructure, claims F5.

Furthermore, the company’s BIG-IP version 10 is a milestone release supporting F5’s vision of unified application and data delivery services, which redefines how application, server, storage, and network resources are aligned and managed to deliver services that fluidly adapt to changing business requirements. These services provide an agile framework of mechanisms to integrate emerging computing models, such as virtualization, cloud computing, and software as a service, without having to completely re-architect existing systems.

F5 said that its approach to application delivery offers as much as a threefold improvement in IT staff efficiency through rapid deployment, on-demand services, and tools that reduce training and administrative time.

F5 claims that, the new BIG-IP release empowers organizations to streamline application delivery through unified services, drive down costs by consolidating the application delivery infrastructure and increase workforce efficiency with rapid deployment, on-demand tools, and services.
