Anti-virus and computer security software company F-Secure has introduced its new security offering which the company says includes parental control, location sharing, browsing protection and antitheft features to safeguard latest smartphones and tablet computers.

The new security offering, F-Secure Mobile Security 7, supports new Android 2.3 and Symbian^3 platforms, S60 3rd and 5th Edition.

It features parental control, which is fully customisable according to 15 content categories, such as adult, chat, dating, drugs and gambling content, which can all be blocked.

It includes location sharing feature for locating user of the device, and antitheft features that allows one to remotely locate and lock ones lost device and – as a last resort – erase the data to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

The new offering protects users from fake websites, provides antivirus for keeping devices clean from harmful malware, antiSpyware for identifying apps that share private information secretly, firewall to stop intruders from breaking into the device, and provides automatic updates.

The Finland-based company said the security offering locks the phone in case of SIM change and reports the number of the changed SIM to the original user.

F-Secure Mobile Security 7 also features a remote alarm that helps a user find his hidden phone, even if it’s on silent mode.

The new security software protects against the harmful apps, malware and viruses that criminals are using to exploit mobile devices for financial gain. Its frequent automatic updates ensure protection against mobile threats.
