Eurotech, a supplier of embedded technologies, products, and systems, has launched a new embedded system Catalyst FX, which it claims to offer flexibility with a list of I/O, multimedia, and communications capabilities. It incorporates Catalyst Module XL computer on module and is based on Intel Atom processor.
The new system offers customisation through hardware and software options. Expansion boards deliver multimedia, I/O and other features for industries such as fleet management, telematics, telecommunications, industrial, healthcare, media and digital signage, the company said.
In addition, the Catalyst FX system supports the company’s Everyware Software Framework, a Java-based middleware platform which minimises time to market and facilitates future expansion. It also supports Windows CE, Windows Embedded Standard and Wind River Linux 3.0.
According to Eurotech, Catalyst FX features include, multimedia capabilities including HDMI, XVGA, and LVDS video and audio; built-in support for u-blox GPS receiver for applications requiring tracking such as fleet management; and application development with its Everyware Software Framework and Java support.
