Embotics, the virtualisation automation and control company, has signed a partnership agreement with Surgient, a provider in self-service provisioning for dynamic data centers, to offer enterprises lifecycle management and self-service provisioning of virtual environments.

Embotics said that its V-Commander provides a combination of insight, control, automation and integration; providing governance and control. With V-Commander, IT administrators can seek out rogue Virtual Machines (VMs) and bring them under a centralised management system, correcting existing sprawl issues.

Surgient said that its Virtual Automation Platform helps IT administrators to reduce the service delivery gap, providing business users with access to pre-defined virtual configurations through a self-service portal.

In addition, Surgient’s reservation system enables users to get the approved resources they need from managed IT infrastructure pools. This eliminates to create rogue virtual environments, preventing future VM sprawl, the company said.

Jay Litkey, president and CEO of Embotics, said: “The combination of Surgient’s self-service provisioning and management platform with our automation and control reduces support costs, increases operational flexibility, and enables enterprise IT to scale virtual environments in a safe and secure manner.”

Tim Lucas, president and CEO of Surgient, said: “Surgient and Embotics products provide enterprise IT organisations a powerful joint solution for managing the request, delivery, recovery, and governance of virtualised environments, streamlining administrative activities and enabling business users with powerful self-service.”
