EDS, an HP company, has been awarded a five-year, $34m contract renewal by the US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to continue supporting its Multinational Information Sharing (MNIS) programme.

Under this contract, EDS, through its teaming partner Harris Information Technology Corporation (HITS), will provide systems engineering and technical assistance (SETA) support to the MNIS Programme Management Office.

The company stated that MNIS’s mission is to ensure that joint forces share a common operational picture. The MNIS programme also supports sharing of encrypted information through a single environment to allow teamwork among Department of Defense (DOD) components, Combatant Commands and eligible foreign nations.

This contract was awarded under the ENCORE II contract vehicle and is for one year with four one-year options. Since 2004, EDS and HITS have been working together for the MNIS programme.

Dennis Stolkey, senior vice president of US public sector at EDS, said: “For the last five years, EDS has provided SETA-type support to DISA, helping the Multinational Information Sharing Programme office to align cutting-edge technologies to their mission requirements. We are proud to continue to provide services to DISA that enable them to facilitate the flow of vital information to meet the emerging needs of our defense forces.”

EDS has earlier signed an application development and maintenance (AD&M) services contract with Telestra for over five years.
