DocuSign, a provider of on-demand electronic signature technology, has released DocuSign Version 9 Fall Release with several new capabilities including ‘Designed for Mobile’ signing support for Apple iPhone and Research In Motion BlackBerry devices for completing transactions while on the go.

The company said that the new release allows users to view and e-sign documents on their handhelds, and see a new status console optimised for mobile browsers.

DocuSign claims that its service allows businesses to replace manual paper-based transactions with secure electronic transactions. It helps companies to operate at the speed of business by removing the hurdles associated with the signing process and offering more ways to access and complete transactions online.

According to DocuSign, the new release includes fax support feature that allows users to print and sign on paper, returning the documents by faxing them back into the DocuSign envelope; and signature sizing feature that allows users to re-size electronic signature to fit into smaller forms which makes documents easier to read.

In addition, signer attachments feature allows users to request additional documentation from the DocuSign envelope. It also allows signers to upload or fax documents and complete the transaction online, creating a secure transaction.

Tom Gonser, founder and vice president of product strategy at DocuSign, said: “DocuSign Version 9 Fall Release reflects the maturation of the industry and our customers who are requesting advanced signing features and even greater flexibility in the types of documents they can manage with DocuSign. With this new release, DocuSign users receive a broad spectrum of new capabilities that will increase workflow efficiency, resulting in accelerated sales cycles and increased revenue.”
