SIMtone, a privately held company delivering Universal Computing, has announced that Defense Information Systems Agency, or DISA, has awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman Information Technology and EyeIT for the SIMtone cloud computing platform.
SIMtone has said that Universal Computing platform is an intelligent network computing system that allows users to securely access data and applications residing in any cloud from a broad array of endpoint devices.
Through its patented technology, by placing intelligence in the network, SIMtone allows firewalls to be closed to inbound traffic so that data and applications remain secure in corporate data centers yet are globally accessible via any device on any broadband connection, said SIMtone.
Chris Mellon, vice president of sales at SIMtone, said: Government and enterprise organizations want less cost and complexity with greater security and accessibility. That’s what SIMtone delivers. By putting intelligence in the network, SIMtone offers a radical new approach to universal computing. With our platform, organizations can even eliminate PCs. We deliver computing without computers over open networks which is unprecedented.
