DigitalPersona unveils new endpoint protection suite

Combines data protection, access management and secure communications

By CBR Staff Writer

DigitalPersona, a provider of authentication and endpoint protection offerings, has unveiled Pro Workgroup, a new line of software for small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) that combines three security functions, data protection, access management and secure communications.

The company claims the new suite has various advantages such as reduction of burdens on IT staff during configuring security applications, managing passwords, rescuing remote users from PC lockouts and searching for ways to demonstrate compliance with regulations.

According to DigitalPersona, the new release provides IT administrators a web browser-based console for defining and deploying security policies. These policies control a suite of security applications on users’ PCs that provide data protection such as encryption of disk drives and files, access management that is single sign-on with strong authentication to computers, networks and applications and secure communications that is digital signing of documents and encryption of email.

In addition the new offering provides a way to manage multiple strong authentication credentials such as smart cards, fingerprint biometrics and facial recognition in one place and also prevents lockouts when remote users forget passwords or smart cards, for IT administrators.
