Dexmar introduces new ‘collaborative’ email archiving product

To manage emails according to user defined business processes

By CBR Staff Writer

Information management computing products and services provider Dexmar has released its new ‘collaborative’ email archiving product for Lotus Notes and Domino.

Based on the company’s electronic records management technology, its new product Dexmar E2M reportedly has been updated to work with MoReq2 specifications around email management ensuring that organisation’s email is held in accordance with all the practices of record management.

The new offering allows users to create tagged and searchable team spaces around their email folders. Users can drag their emails into these shared folders where the emails are automatically archived into their central information management repositories and correct meta-data and security is applied.

According to the company, irrespective of whether it is implemented stand-alone or in conjunction with IBM email archiving systems, E2M enables organisations to improve performance and reduce risk. Organisations are also expected to store less email data and retain it for a shorter period of time, once it has been implemented.

The new offering reportedly enables organisations to manage emails according to user defined business processes. Unlike other email archiving systems, business processes are defined, enabling users to determine what is archived, how it is indexed, when it is archived, how long mail is retained and who can, in addition to the sender and recipients, access the contents of the archived emails.
