Dell has unveiled a series of new laptops and service capabilities, which the company says will enable customers to simplify desktop virtualisation deployments.
The company has introduced Flexible Computing offerings that help customers simplify virtual image management and increase application access and performance and IT control to improve security. The new offerings extend the reach of virtual desktops and focuses on granular application and profile options.
Dell has extended its cloud-optimised, virtual desktop managed service to cover additional countries in Europe and has expanded its service capabilities to focus on application and profile virtualisation options that address customers’ specific use cases with more granularity.
The company said that its Virtual Remote Desktop allows users to work with a virtual desktop on a remote server, with the virtualisation software emulating a local, desktop-computing experience.
Dell also launched new additions to its portfolio of Latitude E-Family laptops that give users an enhanced security and mobile experience.
According to Dell, the new additions to E-Family Latitude laptops include, the 13.3-inch E4310 that combines sleek looks with durability and advanced wireless connectivity; the 14.1-inch and 15.6-inch E5410 and E5510 professional laptops, respectively, designed to help simplify IT by reducing cost, deployment time and maintenance.
In addition, Dell is working with Citrix to validate its Latitude laptop and OptiPlex desktop client systems for the new XenClient technology that extends desktop virtualisation to corporate laptop users.

The Latitude E4310 price starts at $1449, while the Latitude E5410 and E5510 pricing starts at $759 and $789, respectively.
