Dell and virtualisation firm VMware have expanded their strategic partnership to offer new turnkey virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) bundles, vStart for VDI with VMware View.

Dell vStart for VDI, with VMware View bundle is offered in combination of Dell vStart preconfigured and tested server, storage and networking hardware with scalability and performance of VMware View.

It will provide customers and channel partners with reliable hardware configurations and vertically optimised reference architectures, along with new fulfillment mechanisms.

In addition, it will enable channel partners to offer a several applications, from turnkey "View-in-a-box," to different components needed to expand existing VMware View installations. It will also includes Dell Wyse cloud clients designed for VMware View.

By combining Dell and VMware technology, customers and channel partners can deliver effective desktop virtualisation applications to advantage of their businesses, embrace bring your own device (BYOD) and mobility challenges and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).

The combination of cloud client computing and desktop virtualisation will enable organisations to offer anytime, anywhere access to the applications, data and services people want while simplifying IT management and security.
