Dell has introduced a a new cloud client computing application that will enable organisations to securely adopt BYOD and consumerised IT in different scenario.

With Dell Wyse Cloud Client Manager, IT departments claimed to cost-effectively offer freedom and flexibility to employees to access professional resources while securing corporate data and enforcing business policies.

The application enables IT to securely manage company- and user-owned devices alongside end user access to company applications and content through a single, cloud-based console. the company said.

Dell Wyse Cloud Client Manager delivers capabilities in four core areas, including Systems Management, Application and Content Management, End User Self-Service and Real-time Reporting and Alerts.

It also delivers cloud-based remote configuration and management of Dell Wyse thin and zero clients, on- and off-premise, including those in highly distributed environments such as branch office and home users – effectively extending visibility and control beyond the corporate firewall.

Supporting BYOD strategy alongside company-owned mobile devices, the application provides over-the-air mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) capability for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.

Integrating Dell Wyse PocketCloud software, Dell Wyse Cloud Client Manager will help IT to enable remote desktop and content management between mobile devices and desktops or laptops.

Dell Wyse Cloud Client Manager enables IT departments to define end user rights and permissions based on individual or group membership.

The cloud-based console of the new application provides IT administrators with registration and usage information on multiple levels to suit audit requirements.

It also generates reports to detail activity on each device, on a departmental level or individual user and real-time, exceptions-based alerts to help IT teams focus on critical issues affecting the security and efficiency of the computing environment.
