Day Software releases new version of content management system

Adds enhancements for web content management, digital asset management and social collaboration

By CBR Staff Writer

Day Software, a provider of content management and content infrastructure software, has released a new version of content management system (CMS) CQ 5.3 with new enhancements for online marketing agility in the company’s unified web content management, digital asset management (DAM), and social collaboration (SoCo) suite.

In addition, the new version also comes with a Targeting module that provides online marketers new capabilities for customer segmentation and content targeting to optimise online communications and customer experience.

According to Day Software, the new version adds enhanced support for campaign management and optimisation and includes web copy editing. It empowers online marketers to optimise campaign promotions and drive conversion rates with new multi-variant testing (MVT) support. The CQ 5.3 DAM provides marketing new support for building a Web 2.0 experience for site visitors to browse and access an online library of marketing assets.

The new lightbox support enables site to build pick lists of marketing assets, including presentation slides, documents, images, videos, and download as a ZIP file. Its new drag-and-drop components for uploading, tagging, commenting, and rating assets enable marketing to open up digital libraries for community-generated content. In addition, CQ 5.3 DAM also provides three-dimensional visualisation and fly-over navigation of large libraries of digital assets with MediaRSS support, the company said.

The company said that the social collaboration adds support for social calendering. It allows online marketers to create and target different displays of upcoming events, including daily, weekly, monthly, and agenda views. Targeting empowers online marketers with new drag-and-drop tools to define customer segmentation targets and rules. It supports external site browser history, geo-location, and observed site preferences, which enables segmentation of anonymous visitors to drive targeted promotions.

Kevin Cochrane, chief marketing officer for Day Software, said: “The web is the most cost-effective platform for Marketing to attract, acquire, and retain customers. CQ 5.3 delivers a comprehensive platform for marketing professionals to gain greater agility in creating a compelling Web experience, launching new campaigns, targeting diverse audiences, and building customer relationships. With CQ 5.3, marketing can leverage the online channel to increase competitiveness and market share growth.”
