Cyberoam launches two new wireless security appliances

Wired network-like security coverage for SMBs

By CBR Staff Writer

Cyberoam, a division of Elitecore Technologies, has extended its CR15wi wireless security appliances, with the launch of two new products – CR25wi and CR35wi for SOHO/SMBs.

Cyberoam said that the new appliances come with an in-built wireless access point featuring 802.11 n/b/g standards, MIMO technology and up to eight virtual access points, which deliver wired network-like security coverage for SMBs.

The new products prevent corporates from information theft, malware propagation and cyber-terrorism attacks, by allowing administrators to gain visibility on network activity of end users through a Layer 8 technology.

The company said that the new Wi-Fi security appliances also serve as a low-cost replacement of firewalls and Wi-Fi routers for SOHO/SMB organisations up to 50 users who require similar levels of protection for both wireless and wired networks.

Cyberoam VP of Product Management Abhilash Sonwane said, through Layer 8 technology, the company gives administrator the power to apply customised restriction policies on user authentication, duration of access, schedule of access, data transfer limits, bandwidth limits and surfing privileges.
