CSC has expanded its cloud service offerings with the launch of new Cloud Adoption Assessment Service, designed to help companies identify the right business process and IT services when moving to the cloud. It gives businesses an understanding of the complexity of cloud computing ecosystem.

The company said that the new service performs a process-centric analysis of a company’s existing technology set-up using a suitability scorecard. By focusing on business processes, rather than on infrastructures or architectures, it creates a top-down assessment that maps to the company’s strategic objectives.

According to CSC, the new service gives businesses a tailored cloud adoption roadmap for the target processes and a high-level benefits assessment. Business will also receive an understanding of how to align their cloud computing strategy with their business strategy; which parts of their business are suitable for moving to a cloud-based delivery model and which aren’t; which services are enterprise-ready and offer the right levels of security and governance for their business; and the impact on procurement and what to consider before signing on the dotted line.

Brian Boruff, vice president of global cloud computing at CSC, said: By taking a strategically streamlined approach and evaluating the best course of action for each individual enterprise, we can help organisations maximise the benefits and reduce the risk associated with cloud computing. Our efforts to bring Digital Trust to the cloud and provide transparency will be a key enabler of broad-scale enterprise adoption.

The company said that the service will be made available to companies across Europe, Australia and the US beginning in late November.
