CSC has unveiled a comprehensive, modular services suite FuturEdge that the company says helps clients modernise their application software portfolios.

CSC’s FuturEdge business-led services employ an industrialised framework, advanced automation, delivery accelerators and application management practices to help companies make decisions regarding application retirement, replacement or other transformational activities.

The company claims that it free ups maintenance dollars to invest in more innovative uses of IT.

The FuturEdge framework spans the entire application life cycle, from initial shaping through transformation to ongoing management.

The full life-cycle scope includes analysing, aligning, modernising, managing and continuously improving organisations’ application portfolios, regardless of size, industry or location. These services can be used end to end or focused on a single application, platform assessment or transformation project.

CSC has incorporated the recently acquired Quick Transformation Engine (QTE), a patent-pending automation capability into its FuturEdge services framework to further reduce the time, cost and risk of legacy modernisation for FuturEdge clients.

CSC Business Solutions and Services sector president Jim Cook said CSC is helping clients take a systematic approach to deciding how to evolve their application portfolios to rapidly increase agility, reduce costs and decrease business and operational risk.

CSC Managed Services sector president of market and product strategy Nick Wilkinson said, "The FuturEdge systematic approach replaces ad hoc decisions made on the basis of technology with a business-led portfolio management strategy, enabling their clients to explicitly link their applications to the business value they deliver."
