CSC has launched BizCloud, an on-premise private cloud that combines the privacy, security and control of a private cloud with the agility, convenience and commercial model of a public cloud.
The new cloud offering is expected to accelerate the adoption of a private cloud by businesses and government agencies as it eliminates long-lead times for implementation and the need to budget for capital investment.
The new BizCloud features CloudCompute, a new infrastructure as a service (IaaS) architecture which is deployed in the company’s Trusted Cloud Datacentres.
CloudCompute delivers compute, storage and network resources as a service to support any application and is capable for hosting mission critical and business critical workloads.
The CloudCompute infrastructure is built on the Vblock Infrastructure Platform from VCE, The Virtual Computing Environment Company.
Vblock integrates the virtualisation software, networking, security, computing, storage and management technologies from Cisco, EMC and VMware.
CSC said that the CloudCompute is offered in three packages: Standard, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus to enable organisations to align workload requirements with the right CloudCompute package and service level.
CSC cloud computing and software services vice president Siki Giunta said BizCloud and CloudCompute provide the centrepiece of the modern virtualised datacentre.
"We have been listening, and now we are acting with BizCloud and CloudCompute and with CSC, every organisation can easily make the initial move to ‘as a service’ infrastructure, platform and software on-demand," Giunta said.
