CSC bags cloud services contract for California

Migrate multiple e-mail apps to cloud-based offering

By CBR Staff Writer

CSC announced that the State of California awarded the company a contract to migrate its current multiple e-mail applications to a cloud-based solution with Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS).

Under the contract, CSC will support the state’s efforts to improve information technology (IT) infrastructure, increase government efficiency, save costs and consolidate IT functions under the Office of the State Chief Information Officer.

The company will provide Microsoft Cloud Services in a cloud environment offering e-mail and legal eDiscovery services and collaboration tools for mobile users.

In addition, CSC will provide migration services to the new cloud offering and will standardise e-mail across all state agencies that select the service.

The company said that the Microsoft Cloud Services will improve data security, simplify e-mail administration, enhance agency collaboration and improve responsiveness to public information requests.
