Coventry City Council, UK, has selected CRYPTOCard’s managed service – CRYPTO-MAS – to protect access to its servers and networks.
After council budgets were reduced recently, Coventry City Council looked for ways to save money on its remote access security.
According to CRYPTOCard, the Council chose CRYPTO-MAS for its low cost of ownership and because of the ease at which they could migrate from their existing systems.
Initially, 500 council and third-party workers will use CRYPTOCard’s hardware and software token based two-factor authentication service.
The managed service is expected to help Coventry reduce costs further over the coming years.
With the Council looking to increase location-independent working, as many as 6,000 staff could use CRYPTO-MAS to remotely access the network, said CRYPTOCard.
Coventry City Council IT security team leader Paul Jackson said CRYPTOCard enables them to save money both now and in the future. In the short term, CRYPTO-MAS gives them a better managed service at less cost, while in the longer-term, the software tokens will provide savings when replacing and retrieving old tokens.
