PCI compliance and security applications provider ControlScan has expanded its ProTect Managed Security Services with the addition of ProTect Network Firewall to manage the installation, administration and monitoring of network firewalls for Level 4 merchant businesses.
Providing network monitoring and 24/7 protection against outside threats enables ProTect Network Firewall to improve the overall security posture of small businesses.
The new release simplifies network segmentation to aid small merchants in reducing the scope of PCI compliance.
Merchants can offer customer benefits, such as secure WiFi, without compromising cardholder data to possible theft by enabling network segment to communicate with the payment processor, the company claims.
ControlScan CEO Joan Herbig said network firewall errors or gaps for any merchant, large or small, can result in business-damaging lapses in security.
"Despite this fact, we found that no managed network firewalls were tailored to the resource and budget limitations, unique operating demands and PCI compliance requirements of small businesses.
