Financial terms of Composite’s involvement have not been disclosed. But the San Mateo, California-based firm said its data federation software, also dubbed as enterprise information integration will pull together disparate data from the US Army’s financial, logistics and HR and other legacy systems in real-time.

The US Army’s Office of the Secretary of Defense recently kicked off a SOA initiative intended to enhance the delivery of daily operational information to senior military leaders via the Internet. Its aim is to leverage SOA tools and techniques for better information access and sharing across the Army’s various agencies.

Composite’s flagship offering is called Composite Information Server which federates data into composite views. The views represent a logical view of multiple data sources, without physically pulling them together in a single database.

According to the US Army, Composite’s software will be managed by its Enterprise Solutions Competency Center which drives the implementation of new enterprise IT initiatives across the Army’s operational business units and executive offices.
