Document and workflow management software provider Cabinet NG (CNG) has introduced CNG-Web 8, a new version of its browser-based document management interface.

The application improves productivity by allowing users to review and approve workflows associated with individual documents or folders.

A new folder alert mechanism helps users become aware of special items by drawing their attention to notes that are flagged in the system.

By using CNG-Web, customers can extend document management and workflow to remote workers and branch offices without the need to install and manage software on employee computers.

Complementing client-server software CNG-Safe, CNG-Web enables customers to apply the right tool for streamlining their document management and workflow processes.

CNG-Web will benefit users who perform daily tasks such as accessing documents, approving workflows, uploading documents, whereas the CNG-Safe will benefit power users who perform more intensive tasks such as batch document processing, and advanced capture.

CNG president Andrew Bailey said their strategy to provide hybrid document management fits the market’s demand for using mixed technology.

"Offering our customers the ability to choose between a web interface and a desktop interface enables them to optimise their productivity in accessing and managing their documents," Bailey said.

"A simple, web-based interface makes it easier for users across the enterprise to perform their document related tasks, while the desktop interface gives power-users the ability to access the full array of capture, reporting and system management features that are built in to CNG-Safe."
