Cloud.com, a provider of cloud infrastructure management software, has launched CloudStack, an open source software that enhances the deployment, management and configuration of multi-tier and multi-tenant private and public cloud services.

The integrated software offering for delivering infrastructure as a service (IaaS) comes in three distinct products, CloudStack Enterprise Edition, CloudStack Service Provider Edition and CloudStack Community Edition.

According to Cloud.com, the CloudStack integrates with existing data centre infrastructure including virtualisation and networking technologies. It offers benefits including, virtually unlimited CPUs on-demand, as required and billed by actual usage in public, private or hybrid deployments; build, integrate and use applications based on common cloud APIs such as Amazon Web Services API, Citrix Cloud Center (C3) API and the vCloud API; and isolating compute, network and storage resources by user, location and deployment.

In addition, the new offering also provides comprehensive service management, automated resource distribution, real-time visibility and reporting capabilities, and simplified management.

Sheng Liang, founder and CEO of Cloud.com, said: “Today, enterprises and service providers that are interested in launching cloud computing services face the difficult task of integrating complex software and hardware components from multiple vendors. The resulting system could end up being expensive to build and hard to operate, minimizing the original motives and benefits of moving to this new model.

“Cloud.com focus is on enabling enterprises and service providers to quickly architect, configure and deploy highly-reliable, highly-scalable and cost-effective cloud environments and operate in a far more flexible and cost-efficient way.”
