Citrix Online, a division of Citrix Systems, said that it is entering into IT management sector with the launch of an integrated web-based platform GoToManage, for monitoring, controlling and supporting attended or unattended IT infrastructure anywhere.
GoToManage is based on the service offering from Paglo Labs, a provider of SaaS-based IT search and management services acquired by Citrix Systems early in 2010.
The company claims that the GoToManage service enables it to meet the demands of the SaaS-based IT management market. It provides SMBs and managed service providers an alternative to premise-based software.
The new web-based platform creates an IT ‘system of record’ for providing businesses with the ability to discover and identify network devices; monitor critical servers and applications in real-time; and manage network usage and track configuration changes, Citrix said.
Brian de Haaff, co-founder and CEO of Paglo, and now senior product director for IT Services at Citrix Online, said: “When you combine that functionality with the market-leading GoToAssist remote support service, IT service providers now have the single platform they need with GoToManage to monitor and control everything IT.”
Brett Caine, general manager of Citrix Online, said: “This strategic acquisition enables Citrix Online to significantly expand leadership in SaaS by meeting the growing demands of our customers and the market for a simpler approach to IT management. As a trusted partner to SMBs, we are well positioned to capitalise on the huge market potential in IT management with our signature and proven ‘simpler is better’ approach to web-based services.”
