Network security company Palo Alto Networks has signed a multi-phase partnership agreement with Citrix to securely deliver applications over next-generation networks.
Under the partnership, Palo Alto Networks and Citrix will integrate their network security and application delivery capabilities to simplify how enterprises accelerate application delivery on next-generation networks.
In addition, the two companies will collaborate across technical support teams, consulting organisations and partner communities to introduce joint applications for mutual customers.
The partnership will provide technologies to deliver applications with cloud-level scalability without compromising on security, high performance or availability of critical data and applications, Palo Alto said.
With Palo Alto Networks’ new firewall technology, organisations can identify, control and safely enable applications while at the same time inspecting all content for all threats in real time.
Citrix NetScaler delivers network capabilities to deliver any business application, cloud service or virtual desktop with the enhanced performance and high availability.
When used together, the two companies claimed to deliver native application intelligence, template-based management and high performance to optimise the delivery of any application to any user.
Under the partnership, Citrix and Palo Alto Networks will offer validated joint offerings for virtual application and desktop virtualisation applications Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop, as well as other enterprise applications.
