Cisco has released an Apple iPhone app SIO To Go, which is equipped with the company’s Security Intelligence Operations (SIO) and provides users with access to actionable global security information.
The company said that the new SIO iPhone application enables users to personalise alerts, and shows only those security threats that could impact their network. It provides IT staff a way to receive alerts and respond to threats, that can affect their operations.
According to Cisco, the new SIO To Go iPhone application is equipped with Security IntelliShield Alert Manager service and informs, protects and enables users to respond to alerts and threats to the network. The application offers warning intelligence, threat vulnerability and mitigation services to users’ iPhones as they occur. It also provides IP and URL address e-mail and web reputation look-up powered by its IronPort SenderBase Security Network and the SIO.
The alerts delivered include Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) alerts, intrusion prevention systems (IPS) signatures, applied mitigation bulletins, threat outbreak alerts and others, the company said.
Marie Hattar, vice president of network systems solutions marketing at Cisco, said: A key component of enabling individuals to connect to their business networks from anywhere is working to ensure that the network is protected regardless of the device used.
“Our new Cisco SIO To Go iPhone application is another important step in making this vision a reality. It improves the means by which IT departments are alerted to threats, and it provides added confidence and device flexibility as Cisco customers are shielded from these breaches.
