Cisco Systems has unveiled its enhanced AnyConnect Secure Mobility offering for iPhone which provides secure network connectivity from any Apple iOS 4.1 device, improving the productivity of mobile employees.
Cisco claims that the new mobile device support offering extends its support for devices that are becoming increasingly prevalent on corporate enterprise networks.
The new mobile security offering provides efficient user experience to offer on-demand VPN connections and initiate a secure tunnel, and an enhanced security with up to 256-bit AES encryption using SSL or DTLS tunneling.
In addition, the new application features a secure application access from cellular to Wi-Fi network transitions, and vice versa, simple configuration, enterprise-class authentication support, and supports DTLS VPN tunneling which enables optimal performance.
Cisco security technology business unit director Shalabh Mohan said, the new AnyConnect Secure Mobility offering allows users to enhance productivity on the go, while giving enterprises the ability to manage security risks inherent to borderless networks.
The company said that AnyConnect Secure Mobility application was available from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.1.
