Cisco Unified Computing System has been selected by Slumberland, a home furnishings retailer, to provide a cost-effective platform for Slumberland’s primary data centre.

Cisco said that Slumberland has deployed its Unified Computing System and virtualisation to create a private cloud, for reducing costs and increasing performance for both employees and business partners.

Slumberland also engaged Cisco Advanced Services to help determine the best design and integration options for optimal performance.

Slumberland CIO Jamie Page said Cisco UCS saved the company around $368,000 in capital costs, reduced the time needed to provision and manage infrastructure, and helped it to create an agile, responsive environment that better supports end users and business.
