Calibre to track data for US Army Engineering Center

How can data management help in establishing energy consumption accountability?

By CBR Staff Writer

Calibre, a provider of management and technology services, will support the development and implementation of the Army meter data management system of the US Army Engineering and Support Center.

Under the contract signed with the Center, Calibre will track, record, and report energy consumption at US Army facilities, so that the Center can establish energy consumption accountability for individual facilities.

A subordinate command under the US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center at Huntsville, Alabama, is responsible for managing the execution of the Army metering programme.

The Calibre contract has a one-year base period and four one-year option periods with a total value of $50million.

Joe Martore, executive vice president and COO of Calibre, said: “This is a good win for the Calibre team. Our depth and breadth of experience will support the implementation of a secure, centralised Army meter data management system that will improve energy consumption accountability.”

In August 2008, Calibre won a contract with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations and Environment (OASA-I&E), to provide the general programme management, technical, research, analytical, and administrative support.

Calibre supports the Army Environmental Policy Institute research initiatives, the Environmental Quality and Technology programme, the Unexploded Ordnance Center of Excellence programmes, as well as support to the deputy assistant secretary of the Army for Installations and Housing.
