CA Technologies has acquired Base Technologies, a privately-held consulting firm focused on the management of IT assets, with practices in virtualisation management, mainframe technology, security and managed IT infrastructure.

Through this acquisition, CA Technologies is expected to enhance its services and technologies and its alliance partners’ ability to execute on all stages of the Federal buying cycle.

Base Technologies brings to CA Technologies its 23 years of experience in the US Public Sector, along with a track record of success with customers such as the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security.

CA Technologies general manager Adam Elster said the acquisition of Base Technologies further expands their role as a strategic partner and advisor to US Public Sector customers on all computing environments and platforms.

"CA Technologies and Base Technologies will provide customers with both industry and technical expertise and leading management and security products and services for the cloud and virtualisation," Elster said.

"Together, we will help government customers identify the efficient use of their investments, manage their large-scale programs more effectively, and determine the best use of virtualisation and cloud computing."
