BT has launched Virtual Data Centre (VDC) in Spain to facilitate Spanish enterprises and public sector organisations improve their competitiveness by leveraging the benefits of cloud-based IT infrastructure.

The new VDC incorporates an array of consultancy, implementation, security and management services.

The company said the new VDC’s features are suitable for companies that experience seasonal fluctuation in their IT service demands.

VDC’s managed service eliminates the need to invest in additional infrastructure that will only be used to their full potential during peak times.

In addition, VDCs self-service portal allows customers to order and deploy servers, storage, networking services and security, and also provides tools to modify the company’s infrastructure and to track the performance of the contracted resources.

BT Spain product director and solutions designer Ana Lledo said by opting for the VDC, Spanish companies can now reduce the total cost of ownership of their IT infrastructure by up to 40% while benefiting from highly reliable services from a trusted provider.

"BT’s VDC is a strong alternative to traditional provisioning models and to the majority of cloud services that are currently available," Lledo said.
