Brainware, the provider of intelligent data capture and enterprise search offerings, has launched a new version of Distiller data extraction and document processing platform.

The company said that the version 5.2 enhances the browser-based verification and out-of-the box exception and approval routing capabilities of the system. The capabilities further support the requirements of organisations that process huge documents annually and whose operations span multiple countries.

According to Brainware, the Distiller is a platform for the processing of invoices, remittance statements, orders and other transactional documents and also serves as the foundation for mailroom automation. It combines classification, extraction and search capabilities into a single platform that reads, sorts, extracts and validates business information from virtually any document type, with minimal human intervention.

The company claims that the Distiller achieves 80-90% field extraction rates out of the box with line-item extraction and line-level pairing.

Charles Kaplan, vice president of product management and marketing at Brainware, said: Global 2000 organisations cannot have multiple disparate technologies for different locations, processes and departments.

Brainware Distiller is the only offering on the market that can scale on multiple levels – volume, document type, language and document format. This is why some of the most paper-intensive, multi-nationals have turned to Brainware for enterprise-wide data capture.
