MongoDB, a NoSQL database provider, has teamed up with Bosch to analyse real time data from connected devices and sensors for the Internet of Things (IoT) market.

The partnership will see Bosch’s software and systems unit integrate its IoT software with MongoDB’s data management platform to develop applications for IoT.

These applications include retail, logistics, manufacturing and mobility, which both companies expect the sectors to deliver a huge amount of data as 14 billion devices connect by 2022.

Dr Rainer Kallenbach, CEO of Bosch Software Innovations, said: "The value of IoT applications can only be fully realised when analysis is delivered in real time – providing the ability to react and respond as processes are in-flight. These applications call for innovative software development methodologies and flexible data models,"

Max Schireson, CEO at MongoDB, added: "Together, we share a laser focus on enabling modern applications that address connectivity needs in a networked world and support new business models."
