Orion Health is helping Boots to deliver better clinical services through technology.
The care coordination and portal technology will be deployed across 2,400 stores in the UK and Ireland to provide information needed by community pharmacists to deliver lower cost, more convenient health services.
Processes previously delivered on paper or disparate IT systems will now be provided through Orion Health’s solution.
The contract follows a pilot programme which ran over several months in a small number of stores.
Orion Health’s technology is used by 70 NHS organisations in England, in health and social care in Northern Ireland and several health boards in Scotland.
Orion Health CEO, Ian McCrae, said that the alliance would "reduc[e] the pressure on already stretched acute facilities."
