UK based Becrypt has collaborated with Samsung to incorporate its DISK Protect full disk encryption application into the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro to offer secure Windows 8 Smart PC for joint customers in commercial environments.
The Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro features on-screen pre-boot authentication that allows users to login/authenticate before the main operating system is booted and prevent authentication issues.
Becrypt’s DISK Protect, which are offered in several different versions, allows Windows 8 and tablet support up to Impact Level 4.
The application also includes the new CESG Commercial Product Assurance (CPA) version that safeguards data without using Government key material, while cutting down support and cost overheads for public sector organisations.
DISK Protect Windows 8 will also offer USB encryption, single sign-on options and Becrypt Enterprise Manager allows controlling centrally even if the application is deployed to 1000’s of devices.
Becrypt CEO Dr. Bernard Parsons said the collaboration allows offering a combination of a highly functional Smart PC that supports business requirements with both Windows for the business applications and full disk encryption security.
"This is in a highly desirable Smart PC that staff are keen to use for its convenience and ease of mobility, and can support organisations in their Choose Your Own Device strategies," Parsons said.
Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro is powered Intel Core i5 processor and features a detachable keyboard-docking system that facilitates users to switch between a clamshell notebook PC and a tablet PC, while it also comes with S-Pen.
