I was glad to hear that the BBC has made its TV and radio shows more accessible.
The corporation has updated its iPlayer app for Android devices, allowing users to download BBC shows to their phone or tablet for free.
Users can download an episode and keep it for up to 30 days offline, with 7 days for viewing after they’ve pressed play..
The new app will work on recent versions of Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean.
I do love a bit of BBC and the really great thing about iplayer is that there are a lot of classic shows regularly available – and decent stuff, too. The horror shows and comedies are especially good.
Dad’s Army and Steptoe and Son, for example, are shows that I had no interest at all in when I was a wee lad but now I consider it must watch/listen material.
Usually I indulge in a spot of iplayer shortly before hitting the hay but now I’ll be able to do it ‘on the go’. If only the rest of the BBC output was worth the licence fee!
