Security technologies provider Barrier1 has released a new generation of security application, Complete network access control (NAC).

Barrier1 Complete NAC offers real time inspection and protection beyond the client component, through the continuous analysis of real-time network activities.

With all IP devices that connect into a network becoming part of that network, the application recognises and protects against the evolving strategies of all forms of attackers and intruders while providing uninterrupted access to the Internet.

The company said that Complete NAC will solve the existing problems faced with traditional NAC offerings, which may not work in existing infrastructures, and may work independently from the rest of the network and security components, are expensive, and difficult to install and maintain.

While traditional approaches were concerned with just the edge or gateway, the company notes that end points are now part of the Intelligent Threat Management function that Barrier1 has pioneered.

Barrier1 said the new offering delivers automation without wholesale network changes to NAC functions such as remediation, enhanced security, compliancy, monitoring, and alerting.

The latest offering also comes with its patent-pending AARE software to holistically analyse, correlate and interpret data received from the Barrier1 components as well as critical points from the network itself.
