US-based Bank of the West has extended its relationship with Metavante, a provider of banking and payments technology, through a multi-year electronic banking agreement.

Bank of the West will reportedly deploy Metavante’s enhanced Corporate eBanking platform to deliver online banking functionalities to its corporate customers.

Through the deployment of Metavante’s augmented Corporate eBanking product, Bank of the West customers will have access to new features, improved workflows and significant usability enhancements. The bank plans to go live with the upgraded online banking platform in early 2009.

Miguel Serricchio, executive vice president of cash management and commercial card division manager at Bank of the West, said: We have experienced significant growth in the corporate product area of our business, and will position Metavante’s enhanced eBanking platform as our commercial portal, conveniently allowing our corporate customers access to several other commercial products from one central location.

The Metavante Commercial eBanking suite is also complimentary to a range of corporate treasury products offered by Metavante. In addition to Bank of the West’s deployment of the Corporate eBanking platform, the bank is using several other Metavante products and services, including wealth management, business transformation services, image and electronic payments.

Susan Hawkins, division president of eBanking solutions at Metavante, said: Metavante’s Corporate eBanking functionality combined with an unparalleled set of broad and deep integrated cash management services provides a solution that meets the needs of Bank of the West’s customers.
