AVG Technologies has released the latest edition of its internet security software, AVG Internet Security 2012.
AVG claims that AVG 2012 is light, fast and small than any previous AVG product, and features new protection technologies, computer performance enhancements and content download acceleration.
The new security software features AVG Accelerator and AVG Advisor, as well as AVG’s multi-layered protection, utilising signature-based antivirus, heuristics and behavior-based threats detection.
AVG Accelerator minimises waiting time for users by optimising file and video downloads on selected sites, while AVG Advisor monitors the computer and advises the user with available remedies and optimisation possibilities for various computer problems.
AVG Technologies CTO Yuval Ben-Itzhak said they enhanced AVG Internet Security 2012 as a result of listening to their users who asked for peace of mind, better security against threats and an optimised computing performance.
The company claims that AVG 2012 is 50% smaller download size and faster install time, 45% reduction in disk space on average, 20% less processes and memory usage, and 10% faster load time than AVG 2011.
The new release also includes the integrated security firewall and AVG LinkScanner that provides users peace of mind when browsing, shopping and banking, the company said.
