AVG, a provider of free anti-virus software, has entered into a partnership with MokaFive, the virtual desktop management company, to secure virtual desktops.
Through this partnership, AVG integrates its Anti-Virus with the MokaFive’s virtual desktop management suite to provide a solution for a secure virtual desktop that can be deployed directly on the end user’s personal machines.
The companies said that the new offering enables consumers to use AVG’s free software to protect their personal workspace.
AVG claims that the sensitive corporate information contained in the virtual desktop is always kept safe.
AVG Technologies president and CEO JR Smith said that virtual desktops are the future, and AVG strives to be at the forefront in providing integrated security offerings for users.
"We are pleased to partner with MokaFive to protect the security of virtual desktops as these become the de facto end-user computing environment," Smith said.
MokaFive CEO Dale Fuller said that MokaFive is continuing its lead in virtual desktop management by extending the security perimeter of the enterprise to users’ personal machines.
"With the addition of AVG’s anti-virus, MokaFive enables corporations to offer flexible work from home and BYOC initiatives without compromising security," Fuller said.
