AVG launches BootCamp to help SMBs comply with security procedures

Comprises video clips and web content divided into weekly themed instalments

By CBR Staff Writer

Internet and mobile security provider AVG Technologies has launched a free online tool, SMB BootCamp, to help small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) secure their processes and operations by following AVG recommended IT security procedures.

The AVG SMB BootCamp comprises video clips and web content divided into eight weekly themed instalments, each with a multiple-choice questionnaire.

The themes include: analyse your business, understand the threat landscape, the threat within – employees, hardware, cloud; mobile, social media, and create your own security policy.

AVG allows the SMBs who successfully fill out the questionnaire to download the AVG SMB BootCamp badge for use on their websites and as part of their marketing campaigns.

AVG claims that its SMB BootCamp may help small firms to get a valuable edge in an uncertain economic climate.

AVG EMEA VP Sales Chris McManus said: "We think AVG SMB BootCamp will appeal to small and medium businesses who want to show their customers that they take security seriously."
