Autonomy releases HP TRIM 7.3, Autonomy ControlPoint 3.0

The new, integrated releases are built on Autonomy’s Intelligent Data Operating Layer platform

By CBR Staff Writer

HP’s subisidiary Autonomy has launched a new integrated applications, HP TRIM 7.3 and Autonomy ControlPoint 3.0, that automatically applies policy to both structured and unstructured data based on meaning, regardless of format or location within an organisation.

The new, integrated releases are built on Autonomy’s Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) platform, to enable organisations to understand the concepts and meaning of the data.

Since the applications claimed to understand the meaning of information it can help businesses to automate the application of a governance policy based on the meaning of the data.

In addition, they also enables customers to leverage Autonomy ControlPoint’s ability to automatically identify and classify business records in order to declare and manage the business records via the HP TRIM record repository.

Autonomy’s Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) platform will enable organisations to locate and find out the compliance status of their information assets, and then apply the correct organisational policy for the data.

The organisational policy includes security, storage, and retention settings for each asset, enabling organisations to remove the burden of traditional manual approaches.

Autonomy ControlPoint can apply policy to content across multiple repositories, which eliminates the need to move content or duplicate data, enabling customers to reduce storage costs while mitigating risk.

The new release of HP TRIM 7.3 delivers automatic classification of all records in HP TRIM to increase transparency and eliminate manual overhead. It also offers expanded access to third-party systems via Autonomy IDOL Connectors to break down silos and to manage-in-place without data relocation.

HP TRIM 7.3 provides unified universal search and view across diverse unstructured data sets and files including Microsoft SharePoint files to improve productivity and further improves performance with IDOL-powered indexing to improve search effectiveness.
