Offers one-touch access to consumers' online social networks and digital identity

By CBR Staff Writer

AuthenTec, a provider of smart fingerprint sensors and software, has revealed that it is going to release its new TrueSuite PC application software, targeted for consumer PCs and netbooks. The company said the new offering is its first commercially released application software and has been designed to provide a simple interface for consumers to access the multiple features of AuthenTec fingerprint sensors.

The company claims that the new offering is developed to make fingerprint-enabled PCs simple and easier to use with increased user convenience and personalisation. Reportedly, TrueSuite supports a variety of operating systems, but has been optimised for the forthcoming Windows 7 operating system (OS) with support for the new Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) integrated within the OS.

The company said TrueSuite will soon be shipping to a PC manufacturer for inclusion in their new consumer laptop models.

Reportedly, the features of the new offering include: a simple client interface, one-touch access to consumers’ online social networks and digital identity, improved security of the PC and its stored files and programs, streamlined secure Windows and website log on, personalised the user interface with themes and color choices, allowing export and import of passwords and security settings.
